LAYQA NUNA YAWAR
OVERVIEW
IDENTIDAD is a personal project that involves documenting people from the Latinx community through photographs and videos.
My goal is to create a video series about the Latinx community experience in the US. I currently have one episode which has been screened at Rutgers (Dec 2018).
The first episode documents the creation of a mural by Layqa Nuna Yawar (http://www.lnylnylny.com/about)
for the Center for Latino Arts and Culture (http://clac.rutgers.edu/) in New Brunswick, NJ.
Layqa Nuna Yawar is a very talented Latinx artist and his murals can be seen all over the world. This particular mural was created with the help of a group of students from the Rutgers community.
I am grateful for having the opportunity to document his artistic process and for being involved in his creative vision.
